Costa Blanca Choirs

Orihuela Costa Male Voice Choir

The choir was formed on St. David's Day, 1st March, 2012. Originally having 15 members, there are currently 35 men in the choir.

The Male Voice music repertoire is extensive and inexhaustible having a wealth of fine music of all types which have been in existence for many decades.

Many popular songs and a considerable amount of musical theatre music has been added by conductor Nigel Hopkins, giving the choir the widest possible range of songs from which to choose their regular programmes.

The OCMVC performs regularly locally, and partakes in trips to sing in charity concerts along the Costa Blanca coastline.

They have recently joined forces with the Costa Blanca MVC in Denia in a joint concert. Last year they entertained a visiting Welsh Ladies' Choir and performed a joint concert with them in the Iglesia de Santa Maria del Mar at La Zenia.

On 25th April 2015 the OCMVC is entertaining the ladies of the Chivenor, Devon branch of the Military Wives Choir in two joint concerts at PAROQUIA CRISTO RESUCITADO - the new ecumenical Church in Calle Diamante. This branch was the original 'pod' of the famous choir which featured on BBC television and was created by Gareth Malone.

The choir meets each Thursday morning from 11am - 1pm in the salon underneath La Zenia church. Any man who feels he would enjoy singing (and can sing in tune) is most welcome to join this happy band of singers.
